NFL: Vikings at Packers

The 4-6 Vikings head to Lambeau trying to keep the season on life support. The formula is clear: protect the ball, get explosive plays from Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and Jalen Nailor, and don’t let the moment swallow rookie QB J.J. McCarthy. He’s shown flashes, but inconsistency has defined his first run—six touchdowns, eight interceptions, and a sub-53% completion rate. Green Bay’s secondary will challenge every risky throw, so Minnesota has to live in manageable down-and-distance and avoid the back-breaking mistake.

Getting center Ryan Kelly back from a concussion is a sneaky big upgrade for an offense that’s been too leaky inside. The Vikings have lost four of five, with the lone bright spot a gritty 27-24 win at Detroit that proved they can travel and compete when they’re clean.

The Packers are 6-3-1 and coming off a 27-20 road win over the Giants after back-to-back losses to Carolina and Philadelphia. Jordan Love’s season has been statistically strong, but Green Bay still lacks week-to-week sharpness. Monitor RB Josh Jacobs (questionable, knee); if he’s limited, Emanuel Wilson steps up. At home, with the turnover edge, Green Bay deserves favorite status—but Minnesota’s talent makes this dangerous if McCarthy plays within himself.
