Aces Up
This Las Vegas Aces team has a real chance to be remembered as the most talented roster in WNBA history. That is a huge statement, but this is a huge collection of talent. I thought the 2023 Aces, before Candace Parker’s injury, were the most talented team I had ever seen. This group has a chance to be even stronger.
It starts with A’ja Wilson, who is still in her prime and continues to build a case as the greatest women’s basketball player of all time. By the time her career is over, that argument may not be much of an argument at all. Around her, the Aces have once again loaded up with elite experience, star power, and players who know exactly what it takes to win at the highest level.
Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray are back, giving Las Vegas one of the best guard pairings the league has ever seen. Jewell Loyd adds another proven star and another dynamic scorer. Chennedy Carter brings even more firepower and may be the most difficult one-on-one player in the game. Her career path has had twists and setbacks, but her talent with the ball is undeniable. If she finds the right rhythm in this environment, the ceiling gets even higher.
What makes this team even more dangerous is that the bench looks better than it did a year ago. That matters. Great teams are not just defined by star names, but by how much pressure they can keep applying for 40 minutes. Las Vegas now looks deeper, more versatile, and more dangerous from top to bottom.
That is why a futures buy makes so much sense right now. The Aces are not being priced like the clear top team, and that creates opportunity. There are always risks with chemistry and health, but in terms of pure ability, top-end talent, and championship upside, this Aces core looks like the strongest collection of players the league has ever seen.
