Las Vegas Aces Surging While Market Lags Behind
The Las Vegas Aces are quietly putting together their best stretch of basketball in years, but the betting market hasn’t caught up. As of August 22, one major Las Vegas sportsbook still lists them at 14-1 to win the WNBA title—odds that dramatically underestimate how well this team is playing. Only Minnesota (+125) deserves shorter odds. Vegas, at this point, should be priced well ahead of New York (+175), Phoenix (+600), and Atlanta (+900).
The Aces are not just winning—they’re dominating in ways that make their current number one of the strangest values left on the board. Typically, Las Vegas is a public team that attracts heavy action, forcing sportsbooks to shorten their price earlier than others. Yet this season, the market has been slow to respond, leaving bettors with a rare opportunity to back a perennial powerhouse at long odds.
On the floor, it starts with A’ja Wilson, who continues to be the most dominant player in the league. Her two-way impact has elevated the team every night. Jackie Young has been the steady, elite complement—consistently scoring, defending, and making smart decisions. Chelsea Gray, after battling injuries, looks like her old self again, orchestrating the offense with the poise and control that once made her the W’s premier point guard. And the addition of Jewell Loyd, now finding rhythm in a bench role, has added another scoring punch and given the Aces enviable depth.
If the Aces continue at this level, it won’t be long before oddsmakers are forced to slash their futures price. For now, though, the gap between performance and perception makes Las Vegas one of the best values in the market—and a legitimate threat to reclaim the championship.
