Colts at Seahawks

Colts–Seahawks in Week 15 is one of the most fascinating numbers on the board: a playoff contender turning to a 44-year-old quarterback on the road against a 10–3 Seattle team that’s been a bettor’s friend all season. Indianapolis is 8–5 after a 7–1 start and a three-game skid, forced into an emergency reunion with Philip Rivers after injuries wiped out their quarterback room. Rivers hasn’t taken an NFL snap since 2020, but he steps right into a hostile Lumen Field with the spread sitting around Seattle -13.5 and the total in the low 40s.

For bettors, the first question is how functional the Colts’ offense can be with Rivers running Shane Steichen’s scheme. The expectation is a heavy dose of Jonathan Taylor, both as a runner and receiver, to keep Rivers out of long-yardage situations. Indianapolis has been most effective when it can stay on schedule and let play-action open throwing lanes; asking Rivers to drop back 40 times behind a line missing key pieces is a very different script.

On the other side, Seattle has quietly turned into one of the league’s most efficient point-spread teams, covering in the vast majority of its wins and often doing it comfortably at home. The passing game is driven by Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who has become a true WR1 and a nightmare matchup for a Colts defense that has given up plenty of production to outside receivers and deep throws. Seattle’s offense also leans on a versatile tight end group and a run game that doesn’t need volume to be effective, which creates plenty of red-zone touchdown equity for props players.

Defensively, the Seahawks bring a top-tier pass rush and an opportunistic secondary into a matchup with an immobile veteran quarterback and a Colts team that’s been more “average” than “elite” on the road. At the same time, double-digit spreads with older QBs and strong run games always invite backdoor-cover scenarios and live-betting opportunities if Indianapolis can keep it close early.

This one sets up as a classic handicap: weighing Seattle’s form, home-field edge, and explosive passing attack against Rivers’ experience, Taylor’s workload, and the sheer variance that comes with a big number in a late-season game.
